Special Events

Underwater Egg Hunt: This unique “Underwater Egg Hunt,” begs the question – can bunnies swim? Apparently so, because he hid his stash of colorful (waterproof!) eggs at the bottom of Salida Hot Springs Aquatic Center pool. On Thursday, March 29 from 5-6:30 pm., kids of all ages are invited to jump (or hop!) into the pool and retrieve colored eggs, including some very special “golden eggs” too. The eggs are then exchanged for goodies like pool toys, pool passes and candy. Kids are divided into age divisions, with the youngest ones starting first. The $5 entry includes treats, prizes and swimming until 8 pm. This family-friendly aquatic facility is part of the City of Salida’s Parks and Recreation Department and is one of the largest indoor hot springs pools in the country. Its two hot springs pools are filled with fresh, chemical-free and mineral-rich water piped directly from underground springs. The large 25-meter Lap Pool is kept at 84-86 degrees. The Leisure Pool is 97-100 degrees. 410 W. Hwy 50, http://salidarec.com/public-pool/
